AU2008 class

So we finally got word about the submissions to Autodesk University 2008. I'm lucky to have been selected as a speaker, as one of my proposals was chosen. I am very excited and hope to do a good job once we get down to it! It'll be exciting, but I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck doing this for the first time!! Is the material too basic? Is it too long? Is it the right level? Am I boring the attendees? Will it be a 40 person class or a 400 person class?? AHHHH!

I owe Steve Stafford a huge THANKS for letting me give a helping hand in two of his sessions in the two past AU's. Working with him and Steven Campbell was a great honor and I learned a lot from both of them. If you're reading and are interested in someday becoming a speaker, make sure to hook up with someone of that calibre and be a co-presenter. It is a great spring board from which to get experience. I know I'll be giving a helping hand to someone else so they too can be speakers in the future.

So in the next few months I'll be working on the details of the class. I am a big Family Editor fan, so obviously my proposals (with the exception of one!) dealt with family editing. The title of my sessions is Fuzzy Math Essentials for Revit Family Builders, a 90 minute class for Intermediate users. I haven't decided on what makes an Intermediate user when it comes to family editing! I hope you attend and I promise to make it worth your while :) This AU should be a great event with lots of activities and classes to choose from. Just remember to pack the chap stick.....

Congrats Dave!

Thanks for the kind words and you are very welcome. The work you did in those labs was very helpful!

I'm sure you'll do great! Just take your time and remember, if it is a lab, there is never as much time as you think you have and it takes 3x as long to do anything you think will take 1x... practice, practice....practice!

I always use the sage advise from "Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe", "Don't Panic! and remember to always have your Towel!"
